Theodore Irwin Roberts died as a result of burns received while a commander of a military vehicle on a military mission when a hostile force was encountered. / Track commander on Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle (ACAV) on reconnaissance mission. Engaged hostile force in firefight. Admitted to 24th Evacuation Hospital, Long Binh, 27 Apr 1970 at 1430 hrs, placed on Serious Injured (SI) list 27 Apr 1970 at 2300 hrs. (Individual was eventually transferred to United States Army Hospital Camp Zama, Japan, where he expired on 4 May 1970. Incident occurred on 27 Apr 1970.)
