Douglass Terrell Wheless died as a result of wounds received while on a military mission when a booby trap detonated. He was admitted to a military medical facility and later expired. / On reconnaissance mission.  Detonated hostile booby trap.  Admitted to 24th Evacuation Hospital, Long Binh, 20 Nov 1970 at 2030 hrs and placed on Very Serious Injury (VSI) list 20 Nov 1970 at 2100 hrs and later expired.  Incident occurred 20 Nov 1970 at 1713 hrs.
